Our Youth are The Future of Our Workforce, and That Future Looks Bright.

The Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) program in Region 10 has had an extraordinary year, surpassing all expectations and leaving a mark on the lives of countless students. With a mission to ensure young individuals achieve academic, personal, and professional success, our JAG team has witnessed remarkable achievements, empowering students to overcome obstacles, cultivate essential skills, and lay the groundwork for promising futures.

Indiana's JAG program sets ambitious goals with a profound purpose, aiming for a 90% high school graduation rate among participants and maintaining contact with 92% of graduates. Within a year after graduation, the program strives for 60% of JAG alumni to secure full-time employment, while aiming for 75% of students to experience positive outcomes such as full-time work, part-time work with schooling, full-time education enrollment, or military enlistment. Additionally, the program encourages 35% of students to pursue post-secondary education, ensuring ongoing personal growth and expanded opportunities for success. Indiana's JAG program is committed to empowering students with big goals, providing the support and resources they need to thrive and build bright futures.

Seems like a fairly heavy list of goals, right? Our JAG team didn't think so!

Surpassing all goals, we are incredibly proud of our achievements in the past year. With determination and dedication, we witnessed an impressive 94% of our participants graduating, paving the way for promising futures. Among our graduates, 69% found employment, and of those, a remarkable 85% secured full-time positions, reflecting the strength of our program in preparing individuals for the workforce. Moreover, we are delighted to share that 76% of our students experienced a full-time positive outcome, whether through employment, continued education, or military enlistment, highlighting the diverse pathways to success. Additionally, 42% of our students chose to pursue post-secondary education, further emphasizing the importance of lifelong learning. We are grateful for the strong connections we maintained with our graduates, staying in touch with an impressive 96% of them, as ongoing support remains a cornerstone of our program. These accomplishments are a testament to the hard work and determination of our participants. We remain committed to empowering individuals on their journey toward personal and professional fulfillment.

Exceeding statistical goals is not the only thing Region 10's JAG program has impressed us with this year.

The outstanding achievements of the JAG program have garnered the attention and admiration of community leaders. Sparked by their incredible work showcased at the Indiana Career Development Conference and the Career Development Conference in Orlando, City of Scottsburg Mayor Terry Amick and the Scottsburg City Council recently honored the Scottsburg High School JAG students.

As we reflect on the remarkable accomplishments of our JAG program, it is a time for celebration and acknowledgment. The dedication of our JAG team, the unwavering commitment of students, and the support of various stakeholders have collectively contributed to this exceptional year of success. The JAG program serves as a beacon of hope and opportunity, inspiring us all to believe in the transformative power of education, mentorship, and empowerment. We look forward to continued growth.

Beginning this year, SIW committed to "Quarterly Outreach" projects. This winter season we decided on Toys for Tots . This is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserves who distributes toys to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them gifts for Christmas. And this year marks the 75th anniversary! Each person participated by bringing in one to three new, unwrapped toys . Children who receive toys are of all ages and vary from young to pre-teen which gives participants a wide range of toy options. Toys For Tots suggests shopping like you would for a child you know and considering what they might like.
